Make the jicama sticks

  • Using a sharp knife or a peeler, remove the peel from the jicama; cut the white flesh into ½-inch-thick sticks.
  • Juice the lime.
  • Coarsely chop the cilantro.
In a medium bowl, toss together the jicama, lime juice, sumac, cilantro, and 1 teaspoon oil; season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve

Enjoy these on their own as a snack or beside a burger as an alternative to chips or fries.
