Families celebrate the coming of the light with an all-night party that includes poetry, pomegranates (to symbolize the life cycle), and this delicious nut mix.

  • 1½ cups mixed roasted nuts and seeds (pumpkin seeds - pistachios - cashews - hazelnuts - whole and slivered almonds)
  • 1½ cups mixed dried fruits (barberries - golden raisins - mulberries - goji berries - chopped apricots)
  • 10 to 15 dried Mission figs - cut in half lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup dried and salted chickpeas (optional)
