Choose your heating method

Our favorite method for this dish is the microwave.

  • Conventional oven | 30 minutes

Heat the oven to 425°F.
Remove the plastic from the tray of rice pilaf and chicken and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water. Transfer the butter chicken sauce to a separate ovenproof dish. Cover the rice pilaf and chicken and butter chicken sauce with foil and bake both for 15 minutes. Stir both, re-cover, and bake 15 minutes more, until heated through.

  • Microwave oven  | 12–14 minutes

Remove the plastic from the tray of rice pilaf and chicken and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water. Transfer the butter chicken sauce to a microwave-safe dish. Place a damp paper towel over the top of the tray of rice pilaf and chicken and the dish of sauce. Microwave the rice pilaf and chicken for 5 minutes. Stir, re-cover, and microwave 5 to 6 minutes more, until heated through. Microwave the sauce for 2 minutes. Stir, re-cover, and microwave 1 minute more, until heated through.

Serve

Season the butter chicken sauce to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer rice pilaf and chicken to individual plates or bowls, top with the butter chicken sauce, and serve.
