Trees Knees spicy maple

Paleo

Sweet maple syrup from the Catskill Mountains is spiced up with a mix of chile peppers. The syrup is great on anything from a pan of roasted vegetables to crispy fried bacon to slices of skillet cornbread.

About Bushwick Kitchen:

One of our favorite ways to balance sweetness in a dish is to add a little heat. This food start-up speaks our language. Using local ingredients, the company pairs sweet (think honey from the Hudson Valley or maple syrup from the Catskill Mountains) with spicy chile peppers—a match made in heaven (or in this case, Brooklyn). As a result, these condiments can do double duty, adding a fun kick to desserts and breakfasts, or delivering unexpected sweetness to cocktails and main dishes.
