Ham, Egg, and Cheese Croissanwich

Ingredients: Black Forest ham (pork - water - sea salt - contains [less than 2% of the following: cane sugar - celery powder]), Croissant bun (unbleached wheat flour - water - butter - sugar - yeast - salt - liquid whole eggs - malted barley - dough conditioner [wheat gluten - xanthan gum - ascorbic acid - enzymes]), Eggs, Cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk - cheese cultures - salt - microbial enzymes. May contain Annatto for color.)

Prep the buns

  • Line a plate with paper towels.
  • Slice the croissant buns in half crosswise.

Cook the ham

  • Set aside half of the ham slices for another use. 

Place a nonstick saute pan onto the stovetop. Carefully arrange the remaining ham in the pan and set the heat to medium. Cook the ham for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned and heated through. Transfer to the paper towel–lined plate.

Cook the eggs

Crack the eggs into the pan and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, or until the whites have set. Gently flip the eggs. Lay the cheddar cheese slices on top of each egg and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the eggs are cooked to your liking. Turn off the heat.

Toast the buns

Meanwhile, use a toaster oven to toast the croissant buns to your preferred darkness. Alternatively, place the buns cut-side down into a dry saute pan and set the heat to medium. Toast for 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden-brown.

Serve

To assemble, place the cheese-covered eggs on the bottom half of the toasted croissant buns and top with the ham as desired. Complete the sandwiches with the top half of the buns and serve.
