Our dairy-free, protein-packed take on this classic Palm Springs treat features almonds, naturally sweet dates, and aromatic cardamom and mint.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup almonds
  • ¼ cup pitted dates
  • 3 or 4 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom

Chef's Tip

Our smoothies make a great frozen treat; these in particular work well as ice pops, so pour the mixture into your favorite ice mold and enjoy!

Instructions

Prep the ingredients

  • Coarsely chop the almonds.
  • Coarsely chop the dates.
  • Strip the mint leaves from the stems.

Blend the ingredients

In a blender, combine the almond milk, almonds, dates, mint leaves, cardamom, and 1 cup ice. Season lightly with salt and blend until smooth.

Serve

Pour the mixture into glasses and serve.
